When my daughter had her first boyfriend at this age, he mostly wanted her to come over and watch him game. He really wanted to kit her out with the best gaming equipment too and load games into her computer. Not harmless games like Minecraft but GTA - which I found annoying. And then he wanted her to come over and help his family on moving day. That was ridiculous and I put my foot down on that. Then he started to text her, berating her for not coming over on the day his family was moving. That was when she broke up with him. All in all, it was about 6 months but we have to cut out 2 months of summer because we were away.
She learned some things about people from that.

I wouldn’t leave them alone at home. No bedrooms for socializing ever. A conversation about age appropriate spending is in order. And have you or your husband spoken to him meaningfully about sex and consent? I would not wait to have that convo, but would also stress that he too young at present.

That said, it’s great that he is not in the basement on video games all day. Kids need social skills. The enormous feelings that he must be feeling should be respected.
