I bring scraps to SS farmers market.

I do it because it’s for garbage trucks to carry - especially if a lot of residents compost scraps. I particularly notice this in the summer when melon rinds are going out - so bulky.

I also just have been environmentally minded - nothing major, life changing but a- but it’s an innate characteristic.

I was at a neighbor’s & someone asked where the recycling was (to put their can) - the family doesn’t recycle. That really threw me- recycling seems like a societal norm - especially for an upper-class family living in a sfh.

for the garden and it is cool to see your food scraps turn into dirt. But wouldn't it be better if we had municipal compost? does anyone live somewhere that happens (without a paid service?)

I compost because I love how my Halloween and fall pumpkins turn into a big squash garden all on their own. It's really fun to watch.
