At first I was thinking two hour delay, now like looks like a snow day.

The snow junkies need to give it a rest.

40% chance of at least 1 inch of snow
25% chance of at least 3 inches of snow
15% chance of at least 6 inches of snow
5% chance of at least 12 inches of snow

Doesn’t look like we are getting anything

It’s not good policy to make safety decisions based on “parent outrage” or “days missed so far.” I’m over the snow, too, and I agree this may not even materialize. But they need to make decisions based on the actual road conditions.

Agreed but that’s just been my experience as an MCPS family for close to 20 years. Parents make a big stink about closures and they react by next time opening in crappy weather. Parents were relentless with the criticism after the last storm. Personally, I thought MCPS made a good call staying closed as long as they did.

Same experience. But no worries, anything that falls on Sunday will be very light, and then we get into March, when the snowfall gets torched immediately due to the sun angle and warmer temps. So the likelihood of more snow days is not negligible... but it's quite low.

Also, even if it snows (probably won't), this is completely different than the last storm. Everything will melt quickly and it's back to normal very quickly.

I don't think we'll get any more than some slush Sunday.

And if we do, I'm okay with a snow day. My kid is a senior. Already been accepted to college. We don't care if extra days are tacked on to the end of the school year since the last day for seniors is 5/22. Kid probably won't go to school on any of the makeup days. I'll just work from home that day and be all nice and cozy.

Parents of younger kids - I know it's hard now but when your child is a senior, snow days aren't too bad!

It's really hard to tell, just depends on the exact temperature, so wouldn't drive myself crazy trying to predict it.

I cannot with more snow days. Our kids are missing so much learning and MCPS could not care less... they'll just get the days waived and move on.
