Quite the opposite actually. I was always told to never judge someone who mispronounces a word because it means they in fact read it first.

Reading doesn’t mean that you can pronounce words correctly. I often know a lot about a subject from a lifetime of reading but then seem like a total ignoramus because I mispronounce key words while having a discussion in person. It just means that I read more than I talk.
