Special family vacation, part-time job, and dorm-kitchen-friendly cooking lessons. 😂

Coached swimming, lots of concerts and outings with friends. Stockpiled spending money for freshman year.

Mine did two volunteer jobs that filled about 50% of the summer weeks and we went on a nice U.S. vacation.

I'm pulling stuff together for the accountant so I know: he made 9,742 being a Manny on the books. went out at night. plus family vacation one week

Older sister was working abroad for the summer and there was talk of the whole family going to visit her. Complication was DS was committed to a summer job + college orientation. It's the start of their adult lives with growing commitments. DS and I stayed back.

Worked as much as possible to save money for books, other college costs.

A job was expected. All of ours had jobs during the summers in HS.

Yes, whatever they want! Fortunately, we've saved enough for in-state college, and all earnings are for personal spending.

Beach week, a longer vacation than normal family vacation, road trips and hanging out with friends. Very chill, no pressure, babysat for some money. TBH she got bored and sometimes wished she had a job but now that’s she’s halfway through freshman year and looking at a real internship this summer, she has no regrets.
