Can you elaborate on this? Because my mom only had girls, I only have boys, and I feel like a lot of her endless criticism of my parenting stems from this.


This is so real. My mom had ADD girls. I have ADHD boys. It’s not the same assignment.

I had a coworker (male) who had 4 girls and finally got his boy on the fifth try. A few years later the child was diagnosed with leukemia. Eventually recovered.

I’m the youngest and the only girl, born after seven boys. My oldest brother is 18 years older than me, and the brother closest in age is five years older.

My parents originally planned to have three kids, but they kept trying for a girl. After seven boys, they decided to stop and gave up on the idea of ever having a daughter. They were both pretty heartbroken about it. Then, when my youngest brother was five, they decided to try one more time — and that’s when I came along.

They were overjoyed, and honestly, we had a really great childhood, very spoiled, no complaining or regret.


From you. What about those 7 boys who weren't good enough. Or the last 4 who were never wanted except to keep trying for a girl. Gross.

My grandmother grew up with 6 sisters and 1 brother. He was the youngest. My grandmother had 2 girls and then stopped. She knew she didn’t want a big family, especially not in pursuit of a boy. So yeah, my grandmother and I both think your neighbor is silly. Ignore her.

I'm not that poster but I will take a wild guess that she thinks you need to have them under control more and doing less physical activities
