We live in Richmond, my DD plays in Richmond, and the only two parents I know that post on here are two psychotic parents that used to have DDs in Richmond but left for VDA.
My only question was if other Richmond parents actually post in here or not. Sorry.
Don't be fooled RU has 2 dominant teams, the rest are on their way down after having the clubs worst year ever.
The boys side seems to be getting weaker too. Teams that beat us a couple years ago are now losing 0-4, 1-3.
Many of the top tier players on the boys ECNL squad have been leaving and are playing for MLS Academy teams. They had about 6 or so leave last year, so it's not surprising that the boys teams aren't as strong. Not saying that the sole reason for their stated decline, but it does impact things. Across multiple ages groups at Philly Union there are I think 4 RU kids.
After watching my friend’s kid who is in a MLS Academy this weekend, it was very obvious that the players are on a completely different level than MA ECNL kids. Between international players and MLS not much is left for the average player. Lots of time, energy and money being spent on something that most likely won’t go anywhere.
Can a kid have fun playing the sport? I know it's a crazy question, but seriously take a step back.

Seems the 10s are the weakest of the litter at the moment. That might change with the age group stuff. Both clubs shouldn’t be so self absorbed to ignore major changes going on in NC. The good folks at CISA are free to run to other clubs now. Next year will be interestingAnonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:definately a troll trying to drum up attention to vda. IDK. Quickly comparing the younger RU ages to the VDA ages they look pretty similar in their placement with clubs like Arlington and FVU ahead of them. The 11's at RU are solid. The 10's have always struggled but did finish mid-table this year and the 09's and '07/08 teams area again near the top of the table. Worst year ever?

What is that? 4 hour round trip daily for practice? Insanity. I find it impossible to believe that they couldn't find similar opportunities in RVA.
