Arm and hammer powder and I add a scoop of oxiclean. I use scented wool balls in the dryer and it gives a lovely mild scent on our clothes.

Also curious to hear about the powder. Does it clean the towels better? Our towels always get stinky after a year and that never used to happen.

I'm also wondering how/when you add in the powdered detergent? I remember growing up in the 90's our washing machine would be filling with water as we added in the clothes. My new top loader doesn't start adding water until we close the lid.

Apparently most liquids contain 1,4 dioxane. I use Ariel powder. I like the scent--I have stinky boys.

I think if your laundry detergent’s scent is too strong, you’re using too much.

How do you get it (powder) to dissolve? I would think you add it to hot water only and the machine agitates for a short time, before adding clothes and then maybe switching to a cooler temperature

I used to use Tide free and clear liquid and changed to Tide powder. It is less expensive and it cleans better. The scent is strong so I put it in a plastic bag in my bathroom. The scent is mostly gone when the clothes are washed. They smell fresh. I think the liquid is just added water. Just like with bar soap and liquid soap. Hard milled bar soap is less expensive and lasts longer. The liquid soap is just watered down.

Defunkify fresh air. You’ll smell it when you pour it in, but not at all or barely on the dried clothes. I love it.
