+1 to this, and we also do this yearly. None of us ever pack a coat.

I live in Canada and often escape the frozen wasteland for a tropical vacation. I always leave my car at the airport, with my jacket/mitts/whatever in the car. I wear a sweater, sneakers and only pack tropical clothes.

I can put up with a chilly few mins to the actual airport/coming back. Usually when I come back they've already warmed up the car too so that's helpful!

Sweatshirt and joggers (because they are cuffed). This isn't that hard.

Lately I've been traveling in maxi dresses and cardigans. I can wear leggings under when it's cold and easily slip them off. Ideally both the dress and the cardigan will have pockets.

I used to wear wide legged pants, tee, and cardigan but it was gross how they would touch the bathroom floor.

I wore a long sleeve tshirt, comfortable pants and a packable vest.

I’ve gone from snow single digits to 90 degrees in hours in this outfit many times.

What??? For the plane? Jeezus.

When my family has done this, we wear sweatshirts for the DC/plane legs. We don't want to have our coat take up space in our suitcase. That said, we usually uber/taxi so we don't have to make our way back to our car and are not outside more than a minute.

Layering is key bc lots of the Caribbean islands have long waits for immigration and it's likely to be warm while you wait. Taking off layers easily is a good thing.

I'm really confused. Are you dumb or something? You can't figure out what to wear by yourself? You need to crowd source it? What?!

No need to be nasty.

This is what we do, minus the capri aspect. I also always pack a summery outfit and swimsuit/flip flops in my backpack. Even if we don't check in luggage, it's easier to start having fun when we leave our bags at the hotel if we get there too early.

Similar outfit for the return. Of course, I like to sleep in pants in hotel beds, so I just choose pants that could double as pajamas if needed (vuori works great).

How are you getting to the airport? If your own car then can leave the heavy winter jackets in car. If taxi, I usually take with me a light compact winter jacket and a compact hat, that I fit into carry on or luggage, and same for kids.

I always dress the same for planes / airports, regardless of destination, layers in case it gets chilly / hot at the airport and in the plane.

This. Although I envy OP in that this seems to be a stressful situation for them. Must have a really carefree life!

I always layer because planes can be both hot and cold.

Personally unless it's in the low 20s or below I don't think a full jacket is needed to walk between your car and the airport, a hoodie does just fine.
