We started with a dream trip idea to Australia but friends recommended we add South Island. We are physiaclly fit elders but would mostly walk everywhere instead of serious hikes or biking. I suppose we could also spend the entire time in New Zealand.
Also, The 10 day restriction would not include any place, before or after. Thinking Singapore or Taiwan before and then at the end a quick 2 days in something like Fiji or similar (if we flew west starting in the USA)
It's unlikely that we'll be back to that part of the world.
Thanks for any guidance. I'm also following the Austalia thread.
No. Sorry. Of those 10 days, a full 3 of them are going to be travel days. I mean with the international date line, you're going to leave the west coast on a Wednesday night (after leaving the east coast on a Wednesday morning) and land in Sydney sometime on Friday. Now you have 8 days left, and on the 8th day, you're flying home all day (but at least you'll arrive on the same date that you left, even though you'll be traveling for about 24 hours- again, international dateline). The first 2 full days you're going to be all groggy from jetlag. So you have what, 6 days now to really enjoy Australia? No.
I studied abroad there and have been waiting to return because I loved it, but I know I need to allocate 3 weeks to make it worth it.
