This happens from time-to-time when you see that a class is on the larger side. Both in K and 9th. That's what they say 60-65 or 65-70. Especially in 9th they say we admit 10-15.

This doesn’t seem right. Especially 2026

They usually have a little wiggle room with class sizes.

Schools factor in that yields will be <100% when giving out offers. So a decline doesn’t automatically translate into one person off waitlist.

So they let more people in than they have space for? Seems like that could burn them in the (admittedly unlikely) event of 100% acceptance

It’s okay with us because we already accepted another TT offer. But just wanted to give you a heads up.

OP here- just got the same email as well.

Sorry should have clarified. Not for K, for another year.

At this point it probably doesn’t matter (sorry!!). There’s likely only a few kids getting calls tomorrow if the wait list isn’t closed.

Is there a reason they are still holding onto the Chapin acceptance? I thought PSDs really push families to communicate offer declines as soon as possible. Our PSD requested we do within 24 hours and implied it was frowned upon not to.

Not sure but many schools also had admitted family events so they could have held out on deciding after those.

Totally, but that poster referred specifically to a "backup offer" from Chapin. If they know they are going to Brearley or a TT coed, then why hold onto the Chapin offer?

But for connected preschool, at least in my preschool, it's almost impossible to get more than 1 TT offers.

Same at our feeder. You get one. OP, focus on Nightingale. Try to get in now before the scramble in 24 hours.
