Do you know goth moms and dads? I’m guessing you don’t. There’s a reason these phenomena are associated with youth culture, so no, I would never judge the parents since it has nothing to do with them. Nor the kids themselves, since they’re just being kids.
Having raised two teens, one thing I totally respect in other parents is those who embrace these phases in their kids. They don’t shame them or crop them out of the family photos. Unconditional love is truly admirable.
