Unless you are the Duggars, why on esrth would you purchase a 6700 sq ft house?

Any person living in a house that large should have zero say on anything involving the environment, green energy, or energy policy

Thank God for our natural gas furnace. Keeps us warm and is affordable.

We are on electric heat in a 2k sq foot house, and our heating bills are running very, very high too. But our house is like 75% windows.

To Op, check your attic insulation, that is the likely culprit. Other than that, your house is huge, so get used to paying the huge bills.

At least you’re staying warm. I’m paying $600 for an all-electric 2500 sq ft house and we keep the thermostat at 61.

2400 sq. ft. house with gas heat and bill was $200. We keep the house at 68-70.

We did add attic insulation some years ago and our house is a traditional colonial (no large 2 story spaces with large floor to ceiling windows).

$160, which is higher than usual but consistent with cold temperatures, for a 2900sf house w unfinished basement. House was 68F during day and cooler at night. We do not have a gas fireplace, but do have gas furnace and gas island cooktop. Our house is pretty well insulated and has double-pane windows.
