I like the idea of Baltimore right at the harbor. The Baltimore Marriott is nice and you can walk to things. I don't know where you live but you can't beat Old Town Alexandria for its walkability and shops.

There's a pool, and there is a lot of stuff that is walkable. I don't take my kids out at 10pm, so we didn't run into that issue. Charlottesville is also a fun city, you don't have to stay on the pedestrian mall.

Downtown Frederick and Gettysburg are both really nice downtowns for walking. The hotels aren’t going to be super fancy but if your daughter is like mine, any hotel will feel special. Frederick also has some nice ed and breakfasts.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to ding Cambridge, which I actually like. But you will need to get in your car. As long as that’s okay, St Micheal’s is a lot more walkable and the maritime museum is fun. Stay there or drive there from the Hyatt for her coffee shop fantasy. It will deliver.

Also, Easton has a row of kind of bizarre businesses that are delightful because they’re the lark of a billionaire. Worth a stop for ice cream or a meal. You can’t miss them, but one is called the wardroom and the ice cream place is almost across the street. The ice cream place is a seven year old dream, imo.

Our kid stays in fancy hotels and she doesn’t give a f$& about anything except an indoor pool.
