Until there’s a natural disaster, and America shows up to deliver clean water, food, medicine, and to dig someone’s mother out of a pile of rubble.
After we leave, it’s back to booing America again.
That’s just how it works. Why we still show up is beyond me. Nothing would change if we had the same response to disasters in other countries as Uruguay does. Which is to say, none.
It's never been like this before. There had generally been an overall favorable opinion of the US in most of the world, with only a tiny handful of exceptions. Now it's the exact opposite. World opinion of the US has gone to rock bottom with Trump. I'm saying this as an American who lived abroad for close to half my life and who still travels extensively and still has a big network of friends and colleagues around the globe.
I guess that's what happens when the US reduces world welfare. If I was one of those countries, I'd be unhappy too. I guarantee the polling of Snap recipients will reflect a negative opinion too.
This. The gravy train has stopped and they are mad. Too bad, so sad. Time to pay your own way.

Canadian here. You are welcome in Canada!
Thank you Canada...when can we move in?
Signed a frightened American

Do people with this take on current world events understand that rich countries like EU countries, Canada, Japan, South Korea are the biggest purchasers of US goods and services? US exports support US jobs. The US tourist industry is dying, France is moving away from US tech, Canada is probably not going to buy F35s, Canadian are boycotting buying US cars.
Also, surplus countries buy US treasuries. The debt that the outside world buys funds the US military, social security, and other federal and state programs.
The citizens of these countries on the "gravy train" are your customers and your creditors.

I don't think that's an accurate view.
Things are appalling here. Trump threatened to invade Greenland one week, abducted the leader of a sovereign nation another week. This week's drama is sending the armada to the Middle East. As if that weren't enough, he releases an image of Michelle and Barak in monkey bodies. The world viewed the same videos we've viewed of the wanton execution-style murder of Renee Good and Alex Pretti at the hands of Gestapo thugs. All of this inside of several weeks. Trump has done lost his mind, and nobody is putting the brakes on him.
The situation is dire. That is why the audience booed Vance.

how can you tell they are booing Usha and Vance and not the Americans in general?
I agree I feel bad for the athletes right now. It is not their fault that this country is horrific right now.
It started as soon as JDs stupid face was on the big screen. The cut back to the athletes in 2 seconds to stop the boos. They showed other leaders of different countries for normal amounts of time with no issues.
