They won’t get into Burke if they need extended time on assignments. You can get the same accommodations as Sidwell, GDS or any other mainstream private school at Burke. Don’t waste your time applying
You seem hung up on extended time for assignments, but OP didn’t mention that. I don’t know about public, but very few privates will give extended time on assignments, only in-class assessments. But I also don’t know many students who need extended time on assignments (I have a dyslexic kid myself so I have a fairly wide set of acquaintances and friends with kids who have a range of diagnoses and have a range of accommodations). I don’t know *any* students who get that accommodation, and I only know a couple who asked for and were denied (and are managing just fine without it).
Like any student, if a kid with accommodations needs the occasional extension on an assignment, most teachers are willing to grant that if the kid has clearly shown they have been working on it (not blowing it off and asking for more time at the last minute).
