FWIW all those schools are party schools if that is your thing. UF was known for many years for its ready supply of illegal drugs as well as the usual alcohol. You could step off the short bus into any of those schools in 1982. Even Ivies like Penn had a 50% acceptance rate then. And while they've gotten orders of magnitude more selective since then, they're all still massive party schools. Check out Franklin St in Chapel Hill right after the Heels beat Duke in basketball. Those students in that moment aren't going to look like "top shelf scholar types" either. UF can hold its own against UT-Austin and UNC. They're all equally elite.

Those are all quality flagship schools, I would go for the cheapest coa. Personally I would rank them UNC, UT, UF in terms of "perceived" prestige.

Most flagships have strong alumni networks because they have so many alumni out there.

Texas has about 600,000 alumni which pales in comparison to Indiana and Penn State.

Regardless of the school most of the flagships are stronger in their own geographic area.

I would say UT and UNC have stronger representation outside of their respective regions than UF.

I’ve lived in triangle for close to 20 years, formerly in Northeast. I’d say UNC has a strong network. Some things going for it are its location in the research triangle both from a job standpoint and the local sports rivalry with Duke and NCSU making it a lively place to have school spirit.

This depends entirely on the program like most schools.

OP, all of these schools have strong alumni networks (assuming you mean UT Austin). Every school has stronger alumni ties in the area near the school.

Congrats if your kid got into all three!

What does your kid want to study? Where does your kid want to live and work? Check out which school has the best program for that major.

DC is at UT and wouldn’t say UT limits to just TX. DC has had internships every summer at some of the largest tech companies in the US, including OpenAI. Most have been in Silicon Valley/San Fran area. DC graduates this spring. Multiple offers in both NYC and CA.
