She must know she can’t medal in this state so why not pass the torch and be a mentor to younger skiers? Admittedly I also just generally don’t like her between dating Tiger Woods and her childish social media spat with Mikaela Shiffrin. At this point competing seems like another publicity stunt.
I agree she needs to just bow out. She's just being selfish, imo. Not only taking up another spot but another spot where maybe they can medal. She won't medal, if I had to bet.
If she wants to put her own body at risk, that's a her choice. But she's also representing the US and she doesn't have the "right" to continue in this condition.

LV is a grown woman who can make her own decisions about whether or not to compete. At her level of experience, she knows better than internet strangers what her body can handle. Some of you act like she can retire just like that and poof have another job lined up. Maybe she can't. Skiing is her current job. Unless you have a sweet new job lined up for her, with benefits and job security, quit telling her she needs to retire.
She is worth 14 million. She will be ok.

As an early forties woman, I find her so inspirational! She's skied long enough to know whether she can pull off another Olympics on her knee. She has a qualified team assessing her. It's her call. She earned her spot. The younger generation should've worked harder - kind of embarrassing for a 20-something to lose to a 41-year-old, no? I don't pay attention to social media or her dating life.
