I was supposed to be a Josh but I’m a girl so they didn’t plus my aunt stole my name because I have a cousin who was born 3 months ahead of me and his name is Josh

I disagree. Josh is a name that has moved beyond being solely a Hebrew name. I don’t assume every David or Sarah or Rachel I meet are Jewish. To me, Josh is in a similar category.

None of those are pronounced Stef an. Stephan and Steven are both pronounced "Steve in".

The Stephan that I know says his own name like the beginning of Stephanie.

Joshua is a great name. Also, stop asking for people's opinions on baby names. Make a decision and don't share it with anybody until the baby is born and gifted their name. Then you can introduce the new baby as Joshua and nobody can complain.
Everybody is going to have opinions on baby names based on their own experience of people they have known with that name. None of this applies to you and your children so why even ask.

A lot of them don’t pronounce it the same as Steven. Half of the ones that I’ve met have wanted me to pronounce it the same as Stefan. That’s why I said it’s always a guessing game when you meet one.
