Also, what is the deal with neither MV location having a true playground, even with this renovation? Genuinely confused why neither school has prioritized putting in a playground.
Curious about this too. They say they value outdoor time (and I see MV kids outside at Turkey Thicket and EYA playgrounds often), so its curious that they don't put prioritize an onsite playground.
The 2 playgrounds above, kids can easily walk to. It’s close and both are great. Why spend the money on another playground when there is 2 so close and accessible?
From the link, they are prioritizing outdoor learning classroom and expanding the community garden which I think is pretty great. Imagine being able to have actual classrooms outside and teach lessons there. Or doing community meetings outside or art class outside. Their gardening program is also great. My kid learned to plant, harvest, toil and they incorporate cooking in their specials. Kids make lots of yummy stuff and they love it.
They might not have what you think of a playground but they are going to have nature center play spaces.
