You can do it!!!! I just posted and it felt hard at first and then not at all. I wound up feeling happier to get stuff in person from single retailers and buying less overall reduced my anxiety about “overpaying,” especially when I reframed it as Bezos cheating his own employees of wages creating those false savings.

Actually I’ve been doing it for a while to the extent that’s possible, and I have found my life meaningfully enriched.

Secondhand and local purchases connect me with community members I might not otherwise have met. Refusing to buy things I don’t need, or don’t need yet, makes life simpler and offers more peace of mind.

These people are not serious. You can’t just call a general strike. You have to have infrastructure built, like mutual aid, renters assistance, childcare. Job security or buying in from your employee/union.

These calls to action are so out of touch with what is needed for any type of general strike. Minneapolis built the infrastructure so that they could pull off their one day strike. It’s taken them years to get there.
