I couldn't get them from a brick-and-mortar pharmacy. I switched to express scripts and just got my 3-month supply yesterday.

There is a shortage of them. FDA isn't saying why. My HRT provider messaged all of her patients on HRT about it and offered options.

One of them was the online pharmacy Capsule, which delivers to your house. My experience with them was excellent; I'll switch other prescriptions for sure.

Go online through your insurance company.

Tell me more about the pills.

My doctor told me about the gel, but the package insert that said you put it on your arm and then couldn't hug small children or pets without a shirt on gave me pause (I still have little kids in my house). Maybe that's crazy, but I just felt like that caution was too much for my already menopausal anxious brain to handle.

I have always used the gel because my skin is sensitive to adhesive so the patch wasn't a great option. I put it on my thigh every night before bed. It does take a minute or 2 to dry before I put my PJ bottoms on but never heard of putting it on your arm. In fact my Dr told me it needs to go on an area with more fat because that's how its absorbed. You may want to talk to your Dr. I've never had a problem getting the gel refilled.

This is like the run on toilet paper and bread before a snowstorm. It is probably contributing to the issue, but makes sense on an individual level.

I just did this and the cash price was cheaper! My insurance cost is high, the “uninsured discount” price was lower. Go figure.

I get them from my online HRT concierge- all cash. Not brand specific.
Like the PP I would like to know what the pattern or reason is for this.

I just got some from Amazon pharmacy. But it took several weeks until they came in stock.

And word of advice, if something is back ordered at Amazon, they don’t tell you when it’s in. You have to keep checking yourself.

If you’re near Alexandria I’m a huge fan of the cvs at 1680 duke st.

I make sure all my hard to find prescriptions go through there, even though it’s not my nearest CVS. They do a much better job of getting what I need and communicating any issues. My local CVS we’ll leave things sitting for weeks if it’s hard to get, but somehow it always seems to be just a couple of days wait at the Duke st CVS

I've never had an issue (at CVS) but I'm also not brand-sensitive.

It’s been about a year since I stopped Hrt but I switched to wegmans from cvs and was always able to refill patches on time. CVS seemed to have a lot more issues filling prescription.

thanks, that's good to know. I'll check it out. My doctor advised not to get it through an online source that is not temperature-controlled. I'm not sure if Express Scripts is or not? That said, I'm getting desperate so I might take my chances with degraded patches.

Huh. I've been on it a few years. Never heard about a temp warning or noticed anything on the box.

My CVS has been back-ordered for weeks. They told me to try a grocery store pharmacy. I seriously don’t have the energy to call around for this.
