I usually only get up to pee once, maybe twice, per night, but I wake up MANY times, like every hour. It is SO FRUSTRATING.

If that's my only symptom (no hot flashes, moodiness or dryness), is HRT still something to do? My gyn offered it, but also said she didn't know if it would help or not

Ask for Mirabegron or vibegron. There is no reason to suffer like this. HRT didn’t help me with frequent urination.

However, if I drink any of the diet drinks that I love so much - Diet Coke, Crystal Light, etc., there is something in that artificial sweetener that sends my bladder into overdrive and I wind up having to get up to pee several times during the night. This happens even if I have the diet drink earlier in the day. My advice is to switch to water only and see if that helps.

False. It’s the carbonation that irritates the bladder causing you to have to urinate more often. Ask any urology or gynecologist

I disagree. And gyn don’t know all the effects of artificial sweeteners. Please

This is what my doctor recommended too. Estrogen cream.

Same same. I am 54 and have been on HRT and still had issues getting up 3 or even 4 times a night. I added estrogen inserts and it maybe helped a little. Finally I started taking Mirabegron and I’m sleeping much better.

Can’t understand why this isn’t suggested more often

How did you treat it?

Water only drinker here. It does not help.

Get an oura ring or Fitbit and see your overall sleep quality. You need to understand if this is a sleep issue.

Sleep apnea can do this.
