Didn't look it up, do you know why the founder moved to WV of all places?

West Virginia is gorgeous.

And unlike Maryland, DC and Virginia that allow you to marry your first cousin (ew), West Virginia bans cousin marriages so they are much less inbred than the DC area.

I mean ... this is what I call an "alligator rule." In AL there is a weird law about how you can't tie your alligator to a fire hydrant. Why on earth do they have that law? Because someone freaking did it. So ... it is illegal to marry your cousin in WV ... because people were freaking doing it. No one in DC, MD or VA was doing it.

How does anyone know who is their cousin anymore with the ways they can be born and related?

Fave to eat: Ferrero Roche from the CVS, lol. Truth.

To gift: Läderach at Tysons. Gave a friend an advent calendar from them and they are still raving about it. Will probably get DH something for Valentine's from here.

I love L.A. Burdick- and they have a store in Georgetown. Luxurious and whimsical, their truffles are packed creatively and some are miniature, which I think makes them fun and special- like little jewels.

Don't overlook Japanese chocolate. Like many things they do, they often take quality to the extreme.

Royce Nama chocolates are THE BOMB.

Locally, I love Laderach.

I love Teuscher truffles too and have such great memories of buying them at the Rockefeller Center store. Thanks for bringing that memory back for me.

Also love La Maison du Chocolat (and remember buying them at the store under the Louvre, which maybe says something about how important chocolate is to me) especially the dark chocolate orange peels.

I remember those orange peels! 🧡🤎

Chocolate house on 18th st! So great and they hand write the map, and they tie on a beautiful ribbon and they ship. The perfect gift.
