Natural gas is a product of mining and oil exploration. You understand that, right?

And money and price gouging are human inventions. You understand that, right?

There is no price gouging. It's supply and demand.

If you intentionally cut supply when you know there will be demand, you are gouging.

This isn’t true… Texas has a huge amount of solar (and wind).

Texas is by far the leading state in renewable energy production.

https://www.canarymedia.com/articles/clean-energy/texas-broke-its-solar-wind-and-battery-records-in-one-spring-week

Most of the energy industry knows this is the way forward...

Except for the few who are utterly deranged, who spend billions on whispering in Republicans ears about how climate change is a hoax. And before you @ me about "yabut this is a cold snap" like that moron Jim Inhofe questioning why snowballs still exist in February, there's a difference between weather (local and transient) versus climate (global and long term).

Yep the highest price are in the states that use fossil fuels and nuclear. There is a direct correlation between the percentage of natural gas used and price of electricity.

On the other hand prices are cheapest where there are more renewable.

So, it makes to use natural gas rather than coal, right?

The energy providers know much better than you what the correct mix is. It varies from one location to the next, day by day, weather patterns, bidding on energy sources, and subsidies, policoes and fines by localities and grid. Politicians and their ideologies know the leastbof anyone. The blanket statement you make is dumb, even for you.

Nope this is a total lie. Solar and wind are the cheapest. Texas in 2025 produced over 40% of its electricity by wind and solar and they are set to increase solar production by 14% in the first 1/2 of 2026. 90% of their grid growth is solar. They will be at 70% in 5 years because it is so cheap. They are shutting down natural gas plants and building solar.

North Dakota prices are cheap because they have a lot of wind farmers. This makes up 35% of their generating capacity. They sell that excess on at huge profits. The other states with cheap electric are in the pacific NW with hydro. The southwest states have high solar and hydro generation. The southeast use a lot of natural gas and has fully depreciated nuclear plants. They are going to get hammered.

Once wind and solar are built it is essentially free energy because their cost to operate are near zero. We are talking 1 to 1.2 cent per kilowatt. Fossil fuel plants have to pay for their fuel.

Oh split heat pump is run on electricity. Like all electrical system it has a very high efficiency rating. They usually are 3-4 times more efficient vs gas heating but you still have to pay.

I seriously do not understand why people like you push these lies. You must love extremely high electrical cost. Solar and battery power generation are taking over the world. It is just so cheap nothing can compete with it. Do some research.

If TX is gungho on renewable energy, why aren't they against Trump's push for more drilling? They seem to realize that renewable energy is the way to go, but stay silent on Trump's diatribe against renewable energy.

My neighbors just put in solar last summer, spent 86K. Not even sure they have a heat pump. Anyway, they said their electric bill is not that much lower.

Wow that would be a huge system with a capacity of 25 kW – 32 kW. An average home in the DMV needs a 8 kW to 11 kW system to cover 100% of their energy needs. Must be a huge house or a data center.

I spent $27K on my system and got a $8.5K tax credit (thanks Biden!).

My bill is $22/month for the interconnection charge. I got a check from Exelon for $300 at the end of the year and I sell my monthly clean energy credits each month.

The more the GOP talks about Christianity the more we realize they’re full of shit and do not care about Americans and keeping them healthy and safe. They’d install a theocracy that executes dissenters if they could.

They believe in the prosperity gospel.

Too bad tens of thousands of new energy projects were canceled due to the BBB. When your home energy costs are double over the next 10 years, remember who to thank.

We also realize republicans aren't really christians.
