But you write a FCL to have an advantage, and now it seems we don’t? I’m wondering if we should write one somewhere else…

I mean none of these are *binding* binding, I think the main problem is that if you send a FCL and are admitted and don't end up attending that school they'll never talk to you again.

Sounds like the Brearley board member has old info., which I guess is not that surprising.

I don’t know what concrete means - we got very positive from B. Like the person a few posts up from this. It’s not concrete per se. maybe next week they will signal with “concrete” but I don’t know. I didn’t expect to get truly clear and decisive feedback but strong or weaker nudges from PSD.

Seems the consensus is that no one is getting concrete feedback at B now

Has anyone gotten more concrete feedback, positive or negative, at Brearley this cycle? Trying to decipher where we stand there

We got all good feedback from Chapin, Spence and Brearley. Chapin and Spence we got back in December and Brearley when we got back from winter break.

For us they were all strong in terms of feedback. Brearley has a new head of admissions and she is changing how Brearley accepts applicants. They are no longer telling families right after play groups that they want their daughter (like in years prior). They are taking a more holistic approach and looking at all the applicant pool (they are in committees now). So don’t expect to get a definitive answer from them until decision day. Although the feedback may get stronger as we get closer to decision day.

We have a weekly meeting with our director and hoping to hear that we are still on track.

We already sent out first choice letter and love letters.
