Did you give him a bucket or did the vomiting come on suddenly? Kids don’t recognize the “I think I’m going to puke” feeling. If they have vomited once, give them a bucket and line the pathway to the bathroom with beach towels.

I don’t always make it. I keep towels near.

Gosh what are you feeding your kids that they need to throw up so much?? Mine have thrown up maybe once in their lives. But to be fair yes they just did it where they were, let’s say at 10 years old.

Pro tip for team bucket: line it with a kitchen bin bag. Then you can empty it to the toilet. And throw the liner away. Who wants to wash a bucket at 2 am?

My mother gave us a bucket to throw up in.
Once as a teen I was with my marching band for a national competition. I got a really high fever went to the ER and got antibiotics. I missed the competition, they dropped me off at a Knights of Columbus where they had a sofa in an open closet at the bar and I slept. Later back with everyone and sleeping on the gym floor for the night, the vomiting started. I had no control. I felt so bad for the volunteer moms who had to clean it up but I was so out of it. It’s not always under the control of the person.
Knock on wood my kids haven’t had a vomiting illness yet so we’ll see how they do when it happens.
