Why 3am I wonder?

i think it is peri. i have gone through the same. i got cymbiotika and so far 3am waking up stopped for now. i just ran out of the first box and trying to find other options (this one is expensive and really hated the taste)

just to follow-up - i am not sure if it is a coincidence that the waking up stopped or the magnesium actually helped

Anonymous wrote:I keep waking up at 3ish overheating with an elevated heart rate. I'm not sweaty, so it's not night sweats, and it's not dependent on my cycle. It's almost every night. I can throw the covers off, cool off for a couple minutes and then usually get back to sleep, but I'd love to figure out wtf is going on so I can sleep uninterrupted.

Last round of labs at annual (November 2025) were all normal, not sick with covid/flu etc... I sleep in linen sheets, a cotton blanket, and a light comforter in a linen duvet, no clothing. My room is about 60-62 degrees. Same mattress I've had for years (it's a Purple), so no new changes there. The only change I've made is trying to lose a bit of weight and not eating after 7.

What the heck?!

Sounds age related. Men get hot flashes too as testosterone lowers and estrogen elevates a little.

+1

I’ve been up since 4:15am. Hot flash awakened me, and I couldn’t fall asleep again.

This is a cortisol spike and it can have different causes. If it is always 3 am, it’s not a coincidence, that is when cortisol rises.

I had this and apparently my thermostat was on “comfort” setting which started heading up the house at 2am. I thought I had a medical problem but I just had to change the setting on my ecobee. I hate to say how long this went on for.

I'm experiencing the same. I'm 46 and now believe it is perimenopause too.

Not all hot flashes are sweaty. The worst is yet to come.

Cardiovascular issues can also be part of peri, but get checked by Dr.

Running a fan at night can help.
