I have had 8 bonded teeth since college. I’m 50 now. Other than a chip here or there or a small discoloration, they’ve been great!

I was contemplating veneers but hesitant. My dentist did the whitening, filing and bonding instead. The price went down from $8800 for four teeth to $1000.And I have been happy with them for three years…so far.

Good luck. Sounds worth another consult with a recommended specialist.

It is insanely stupid to get veneers just for vanity.

OP here. Thanks for all the replies. Seems like veneers are thumbs down for a lot of reasons. Super annoyed since I did ask my dentist about bonding originally. He upsold the veneers and said bonding wasn’t worth it.

I def have decent teeth just a tiny nick in a front tooth, slightly different size front teeth that is likely most noticeable to me, and they could be “whiter”…

Bonding recs? - super sad my dentist didn’t want to work with me here since he has really been a good dentist in all other respects.

They only work if what you're trying to cover up is pretty minor: yellow teeth, small gaps. Things that aren't generally reasons to get veneers in the first place. And I say that as someone who is a bigger fan of veneers than most on this thread. If you're going to do it, go to the best. Lowenstein Lituchy Kantor in NYC is the gold standard IMO. But the OP doesn't necessarily sound like someone who needs veneers.

There is no way. They grind your teeth down to nothing. Avoid at all costs.

You honestly could not tell at all, and because both front teeth got filed ever so slightly to make them even, my smile actually looks the best it ever has, all for a very cheap price. I would absolutely do that first before veneers. They often look so awful even on celebrities who can afford the best work.

NP. I’m starting Invisalign soon and I hope when I’m done, the front 2 teeth will be filed to matching length.

I have really good veneers and nobody ever guesses they are fake because they are properly sized and realistically colored. My dentist retired or I would recommend him. I have to redo them soon and I'm dreading having to find someone new to do them.

Everyone I know with veneers regrets them.
