This is not true. It's the opposite. Most (not all) of them are done growing taller by 16. Boys later to puberty will grow later.
There is a lot of talk about someone's brother's cousin who grew 4 more inches in college (and of course ended up 6-5 in the retelling). Not saying these situations don't happen. They do. But they get presented as commonplace.

I think there's something to this. Not sure of it's true but my son with more facial hair seems to have stopped growing but my my other that seems to be on the later side keeps going in spurts with lags between.
There’s nothing to it. They are not genetically related. Certain Asian ethnicities have little body hair, Persians can be hairy. But not related to puberty.
