She’s cleared house at UVA
Top Youngkin appointees resign
Spanberger should be able to easily replace them given Dem trifecta
The former CIA officer asserting her control.
Some good news on a Friday night.
Didn’t happen at all. She “asked” some BOV members to resign. They aren’t going anywhere. She did it to make fake news, which apparently you fell for. Everything is very calm and quiet at UVA, where I am tonight. Everyone is glad Ryan is gone and likes the new Prez. There is no news here.

As long as you realize it is the governor's prerogative to appoint members to the boards of state colleges and it's not an outrage when a Republican does exactly what a Democrat does (and vice-versa). This seems to need to be explained to you every four years. Same with presidential appointees.

That being said, becoming a bit less DEI focused and more welcoming to traditional Republican views (not MAGA views, but old school moderate conservative views) is not a horrible idea and might win her a bit more support. And I say this as a lifelong Democrat.

This is false and I doubt you're a part of the school community. First of all, this is Rush week, so it's definitely not quiet. I was at an event this week with faculty, staff, students and alumni. The new president received a tepid response when he was introduced. I'm sure he's a nice guy and well known by the community (former Batten Dean), but accepting the job under the current climate, just before the new Governor took office isn't a good look. What was the rush? There are already emails by student and faculty groups questioning this decision so I wonder how much support he'll receive. Lastly, Jim Ryan was very popular with students.Everything is very calm and quiet at UVA, where I am tonight. Everyone is glad Ryan is gone and likes the new Prez. There is no news here.
