Is your eighth grader in a situation where MCPS has to send them to HS for math - (i.e) reached the highest level of math offered in MS in seventh grade ? If yes, is DC is in a MS feeder to Blair or Poolesville? If yes, speak with the math teacher regarding appropriate placement.

Sadly there are 8th graders taking functions at Blair this year. Dumb choice and one that parents of the kids involved were not suitably informed about. No 13 year old needs that pressure.

Out of curiosity - do you know which middle school they are from? Asking because, there used to be a small handful from TPMS that would end up going to Blair for math in eighth grade and I heard it stopped couple of years ago when TPMS restarted offering Algebra 2. I wonder if they restarted sending kids to Blair or maybe it is from another feeder MS like Eastern? Thanks!
