I'm mid 50s. Live perfect. My generation is dying from really awful things The cancer gets you in the end.

15:21 again, Forgot 9/11. Friend died at the Pentagon. He was 31.

I can honestly say that in my immediate circle, not many. 1 last year due to lung cancer (she did not smoke, but cancer doesn't really care). I am 56.

HS classmates - cancer, domestic violence, brain aneurysm, hit by drunk driver, some sort of multi organ catastrophe (more than a heart attack) on the day after Thanksgiving 20 years ago, suicide x2, liver failure due to substance abuse, and more.

Six people. One on 9/11 (age 33), the rest cancer (three in their 40s, two in their early 50s).

A friend of mine in high school died of leukemia. She was 16. So far everyone else from my high school group is still alive (late 30s).

Cancer is not good in the 45 and under age bracket

The husband of an acquaintance died in 2025 from bile duct cancer. What a horrible disease. (And I agree about the "real" name. It makes glioblastoma look like 2nd grade spelling word.) He was 50 or 51. Such a loss.

I’m 45. I lost one very good friend (previously my best friend) to addiction. 1 good friend to suicide, 1 good friend to cancer, 1 formerly good friend to illness (we had lost touch but weren’t estranged). In my broader circle of acquaintances who are my age, at least 2 suicides, 1 car crash, 2 illness

Friends - only one from my close circle. She died very suddenly of an aneurysm. She was 50. I have acquaintances who died and older family members but only one close friend so far. I am 52.

In the last couple of months, 2 close friends my age died--one from a massive heart attack and one from nonsmoking lung cancer. I'm early 40s.

Before that, lost a friend to murder (killed by an acquaintance).

It threw me quite a bit when I found out that a guy I'd had a complete crush on in my freshman dorm group (RA group?) who was a college athlete died at 50 from complications of atherosclerosis

I was so in love with him. At 18 I would have married that guy but he got targeted by another girl with better game than I had.

Now I'm 60. And I think that girl he married might actually have done some prison time for fraud

Mid 50s. A cousin died of cancer in her 30s. The husband of a friend dropped dead of a heart attack in early 50s. Another died in early 50s of a brain tumor.

I know several more who had cancer or other serious health crises but are doing ok now.

Gosh. I'm 71 but none the last few years. By the time I was 55 there were 2 suicides (both women), a lung cancer death, and a stunning liver failure due to alcohol death I never would have imagined. In the last 10 years a CO death in a mountain cabin and lung cancer only found when the person was in critical condition due to diabetes and HBP.

I'm 58.

Out of my '89 college class of 1100, 35 have died.

Mostly heart attacks (men) and cancers (women and men). A few accidents. No suicides.

In the last 5 years I have seen 7 of my neighborhood female peers widowed. All 50s-60s. ALS, didn't wake up at home, didn't wake up at home, heart failure on vacation, didn't wake up on vacation, cancer dead within 2 years, cancer dead within 3 months. Only 1 month after the wedding.

The only female peer I know of who recently passed literally went on some kind of fitness hike in a state park and stepped wrong and fell to her death. Several months ago. She was very healthy. Far healthier than I am.
