I only know two close enough to feel I can comment on it.

1) really bad ADHD and extremely liberal. If someone isn't as extremely liberal as her, she's done. She dominates conversation making it hard to get a single word in.

2) her list of requirements for a husband arr incredibly long. There is no way a man alive fits that list.

Who cares?

All the ones I know had divorced parents.

Old women are irrelevant.

I think I was meant to be one. Should have never gotten married.

Or having kids. I say this as a very happily married woman with lovely grown children. My happy marriage was due in some part to very good luck and favorable circumstances.

More power to you! I am seeing many more single women who are happy and have their life together. Especially, if they are college educated and make decent amount of money.

My honest thoughts are: I'm jealous.

I am in my late 50s. I have a very successful, married but childless friend - and we have had these talks about aging etc. The truth is that in the end... we all will be single widows/widowers who will have to manage our lives alone.

Having grown kids/no kids makes no difference. In fact, more and more, the grown kids are eschewing taking care of elderly parents, and that brings its own heartbreak for parents.

A forever bachelorette is already savvy, manages her own financial and personal matters, takes care of her health etc. More power to them.

- Married with adult children.

I don't think much about them. Who has time to care that much about other people's love lives.

I feel a bit sad for them. The women I know did not have unrealistic standards. Most of them were really nice, kind women who just got overlooked. My coworker is very low drama and just a great colleague to everyone. If I had to guess, I'd say she didn't put herself out there and was a bit of a homebody during the years that she would have found a spouse.
