This. And 25 people at work.,And it’s annoying. Either they have a reminder set up so can type a quick HBD in a text chat or they are reminded when they see someone else’s text.

Everyone gets a birthday, it is not special. I love it when they somehow forget at work. This year I took off on my birthday just to avoid the barrage of wishes. However, the boss reminded everyone when I came in next day.

When you have a friend die, suddenly, out of nowhere, you will see how special a birthday is. Some people stay 45 forever, so I'm grateful for 46.

I have a few big groups chats and someone will often chime in with a "happy birthday" which then spurs the other 10 people to chime in. But out of those people, maybe 3 or 4 would remember without a reminder.

My Dad often forgets, but he has other charms, so I don't hold it against him. And I sort of enjoy the "will he remember this year" game each time it rolls around.

If I want to celebrate, I do and will plan something with friends. But these years, I feel content just having cake with my kids and husband. I am 45, if that matters.

My twin never forgets my birthday.

I think a lot of people in my family know my birthday, but I don't really have contact with them anymore. They are the kind of people who give everyone family picture calendars at Christmas with all the birthdays and anniversaries listed.

I don't really participate in any of that anymore. That calendar is up to like 50 people these days.

The only reason I even remember one nephew's birthday is that it's their home security code.

I barely even remember my own age some years at this point, I somehow always think I'm a few years older than I actually am.

Are you sure they know it’s your birthday? Is there a possibility they (mistakenly) think you don’t celebrate / dont want cake?

If they know and purposefully exclude you, that’s terrible and I’m sorry.

After 40 I was like, “I’ve had 40 of these already, this is getting silly.”

My immediate family remember, a couple of old friends. I wouldn’t want more.
