It really is a gem of a show. It was both quality and easily digestible. And Coach Taylor. Sigh.
I got a little wistful when I found out that Kyle Chandler’s daughter plays the android Wendy in the most recent Alien adaptation.
She is super talented, and Coach Taylor is her dad. All the sighs.
Have always had a super crush on him ever since Homefront (might be a thought if you haven’t seen it before).
Agree with the general consensus that it’s hard to replicate a show like FNL. You kind of have to choose between all the elements that made it work. The characters with a strong, respectful marriage. The high school atmosphere of a certain camaraderie. Wholesome values prominently featuring friendship and respect. I even admired the pursuit of the future of the football star who was paralyzed in a game. That one actually happened in our town’s high school, a teenager was permanently paralyzed after a very unfortunate hit during a practice.
I have heard from at least one person that the TV series Parenthood got her through a very, very difficult time in her life.
FNL was just a gem of a show.
