We are also going back to Costa Rica this spring break. Last spring break we did Puerto Rico and stayed at the Wyndham grand. It was wonderful and so easy, booked through Costco. Marco island was a total snore.

Op - no they can play in the water/sand for hours.

Then with those ages I would just find a nice condo or resort on the beach in south Florida. Why over complicate it?

Too cold

Not in late March/early April. It’s winter break you have to worry.

It was 80 degrees in South Florida at Christmas.

Same age kids. We are going to Costa Rica (staying in Airbnb in Tamarindo area) — it’s our second time with kids. First time was great so running it back.

Opal grand Delray Beach
Sandpearl Clearwater beach
Ritz Amelia island
Omni Amelia island
JW/Ritz grande lakes (no beach but amazing lazy river/pool/slides situation). All should be within your budget depending on your dates.

We are going to Puerto Rico but would have done Costa Rica except we just did last year. But Costa Rica is wonderful.

Our last minute spring break with kids one year was Tulum-Chichen Itza-Cancun. We stayed in quiet pay-as-you-go hotels on the beach. We flew a bargain carrier to Cancun without issues. We rented a car.

Costa Rica. Lots of fun, we did this when kids were 10 and 7. For a week and 2-3 days in each place we did:

Fly into San Jose, rent a car, stay at nearby Marriott San Jose. Visit peace park animals and see nearby waterfall.

Drive 2 hours to la fortuna, stay in resort booked off of Expedia, do zip lines, coffee tours, hot springs, see the volcano 🌋

Drive 3 hours to the coast, stay at el mangroove, relax at the pool and on the beach.

Fly back out of Liberia cr.

Tons of other awesome resorts and fun things to do in Costa Rica too.

Agreed!!! Maybe the Keys if you want to do something a little different. How good of a swimmer is the six year old?
