How? Why? When you are part of a consumer class you are literally 1 of hundreds of thousands of names on a list and you and your $20 in exchange for the company being able to settle for comfortable damages.
Many people don’t even cash their checks. The lawyers make the real money and they aren’t worried about it coming back to haunt them.
The company doesn’t care it’s just money, and even collectively it’s a drop in the bucket for most.
It’s mostly a racket for plaintiffs’ firms.
