The microplastic topic has been really hot as a topic. I use a lot of freezer bags but starting to feel like those and the plastic Rubbermaid brilliance containers may not be so smart now. The Super cubes I believe are silicon so that's "safe". Anything else as efficient as the bags, but not plastic?

BTW - Not an issue with ground meats for me as I get the butcher to divide in 1 lb portions and they are wrapped in paper which I then stick in a big bag together. Not so space or cost efficient but it works for me. Just a small family of two now.

I use a food saver/vacuum sealer for these. I buy the logs from costco, and separate each into 1 lb chunks. Put it into the vacuum bag, press it down so it's flat and seal it up. Stack and freeze, and can pull out 1lb portions when I need em. If you dont have a vac sealer, you can use ziploc bags, just make sure to press as much air out as possible.

zip lock bags. get the air out. write what it is if you freeze a lot of stuff and aren't used to mystery meat. put cardboard on your freezer shelf in case you have the rung type and don't want your bags to get frozen in the shelf. you can freeze cooked stuff too.

Is the question here really, "How do I freeze ground beef?"

I swear, I don't know how some of you leave the house without minders.

I want to buy this (see link) ground beef and then divide it into three or four packages to freeze. That way I can pull out one portion to cook at a time because I don't eat it that often. How to freeze the portions? I have tinfoil and ziplock baggies, but could buy something else if that's better.

Sorry but how is this a question?
Ziplock freezer bags - it’s literally what they are for

No, because I don't have super cubes and am not in my buying phase right now. Plus meat sauce would stain and I hate that. These freezer bags are going to work best. I eat this type of meat like once a month.

Just FYI - nothing that I've put in my souper cubes has stained them, including red chili, etc.

You again. I imagine you as a 75 year old widow in classic but sensible white shirt, a skirt, and a cardigan, having a gin on the terrace while you relax and watch the ducks in the private pond after taking care of your correspondence. Actually, I admire that life from afar.

I divide it into 1lb portions, put each into a freezer bag, press to remove air and put in freezer.

I wrap the portions in tinfoil or plastic wrap, then put into the freezer zip lock bags. Keeps it fresher.

I use cling wrap, a long piece and as I roll it up around the meat I'm tucking in the sides as well, and then a piece of freezer tape to secure and label
