The last thing twins need is confusion over whose name is whose. They already have to share a womb and birthday. At least start them with distinct identities!

In my opinion, Vera doesn't sound good with any of them. I like a lot of the old-lady names, but Vera still sounds too old-ladyish to me.
Some others: Victoria, Veronica, Nora, Stella, Delia, Georgia, Celia, Susannah.

I think of Carter as an old fashioned name, too, so I think Carter and Vera go together.
my preference is for the ame number of syllables - So Vera and Carter, Malcom, or Marcus.
When I was deciding on names, I thought a lot about yelling those names. I think with twins you're even more likely to yell them at the same time. Imagine: Standing at the back door and yelling out into the back yard: Vera! Carter! Time for dinner! Or inside - Vera! Malcolm! We've got to go, get down here this instant! Or at school - I'm here for early pickup for a doctor appt, can you page Vera and Marcus to come to the office?
