It was ok. I'm not sorry I watched it. I had read the book.

I don't think the movie made much sense in terms of why they didn't express feelings earlier. I also did not get where her parents were and why she never visited them in the hometown. Was that explained in the book? Did not care for Poppy's character at all, she was immature with zero growth.

I haven’t read the book. I don’t really get the Alex character’s lack of initiative but I thought Poppy’s character kind of gave a good explanation (feeling like she is “too much.”) I also have been in relationships sort of similar so I didn’t have a hard time filling in gaps.

There was a little more people-meeting in the book, but still, really, it was more like "people we become on vacation," or "parts of us that emerge on vacation," which is not the best title.

Movie is flat and predictable had o skip through some of it as it was just really bad.

This was how I felt. Book was meh to me, movie was innocuous but basically something to watch while folding laundry or knitting.

Does Sarah become a flight attendant in the book?

Can you remind me of the context about why the characters were they easy they were? It's been a while since I read the book.

I did enjoy the movie! I have a soft spot for Poppy. I think I used to be more like her in my teens and 20s but in trying to be less annoying, not "too much" all the time, plus trying to keep my work and household running smoothly, I may have lost some of that joie de vivre and spontaneity.
