There is no one "true" house. You can love another.

Do not raise your toddler in Appalachia. Too much exposure to drug addicts. Move.

I’m very conflicted as I love the house we bought last year, but I really loathe everything else despite my best efforts (closed social life, limited to no activities, etc). I am also looking at a local offer but dread staying here any longer. We have a toddler. WWYD?

Move. You are being handed an opportunity here. Don't squander it over an emotional attachment to a house that happens to be located in a place you hate.

Why is this even a question? Move immediately and be grateful you have the opportunity. If you can’t let go of the house, see if you can rent it out rather than sell it
