Do these people have kids also applying for college ? Seems like a conflict of interest. They could tank someone to get rid of competition for their own kid.

You are dreaming.

That’s your opinion. Not a fact. Too bad you can’t tell the difference.

This sums up the importance -- or lack thereof -- of the alumni interviews very well. It's all about the ego of the interviewer.

They don’t even interview any longer, same goes for Columbia and Cornell.

Nothing worse than an Ivy alumni interviewer. Just let it go man. Your college days are over. No one cares. Move on with your life and stop living in the past.

Dartmouth and Yale are evaluative (eg, count). Dartmouth tries to interview all applicants while Yale does not.

I’ve heard Cornell’s are not evaluative but I don’t track that to know if it’s changed or varies by school.

You can easily look this up in each college's common data set. Some count and some don't. I doubt any Ivy interviewers would claim they county when they do not.

I have interviewed for my Ivy and we were given a lot of instructions on what info to gather. And no it didn't feed my ego at all.
