We played at the National Harbor. We felt lucky that we didn't have to go to MDJrs instead.

I thought they owned the facility? In that situation it’s not about not paying rent, but about getting their act together.

Seriously though… is anyone here affiliated with MD Jrs as a player or coach? Can you ask what the plan is with the facility? They owe you all answers, minimally, because that place is not OK!

THIS. If this were my kid's club facility, I'd be mortified. MD Jrs. has many teams and thus a lot of revenue, including revenue from hosting events. Why aren't they putting any $ into facilities management? It's gross and certainly an unhealthy environment for athletes to boot.

The more you spend on maintenance, the less you can pay yourself.

How do you dare say that they do this for the love of money? They clearly do it for the love of volleyball and profit has little to do with it.

If they love volleyball and aren't worried about the profits, I'll eagerly await news about the critical updates to their facility that they are making to maintain a clean and healthy environment for volleyball players.

I think they can get away with it as long as the clubs in the region keep signing up for their tournaments. Once the tournament participation dwindles, they will start thinking how they can bring everyone back. I doubt the status quo will change otherwise.

But nobody can really say no, because CHRVA requires clubs to play a certain number of CHRVA events to be eligible for things like bid regionals.

It's tough to find a local venue to host a tournament- even if it's just 10 courts. HS gyms cabt hold more than 4 or 6 courts and already reserved by rec leagues or by the HS for their own athletes.
There are a handful of community centers that could probably accommodate 8 courts, but not much more.

The St. James has (and will) host, but they're expensive.

So, MD Jr's it is...

And the bathrooms! I was there yesterday and there is that old woman shuffling around "cleaning" all the time but the floors are gross, the trash cans overflowing.. Just yuck!
