I put my treadmill in the living room so I really have no excuses.

I try to do 60 minutes of walking a day there.

Some days I literally have to do it 5 minutes at a time and it’s the last thing I want to do, but 5 minutes is only 5 minutes and the hardest part is starting.

Action is the antidote to anxiety. It's nearly impossible to feel or think your way out of depression. You really need to act, and the good emotion will follow.
Get groceries. Go for a walk. Listen to a podcast while doing the dishes. Fold one load of laundry. Make your bed.

I'm struggling too. I've always been healthy and in good shape and I normally work out daily and eat pretty well. I've had some health issues and can't sleep well so I lost all motivation to exercise or eat well. Then I started gaining weight and that exacerbated the lack of motivation.

Honestly, I do think a lot of this is related to the state of the world and D.C. in particular. It is so not normal right now, I can't pretend it is, and I have no control over anything. And it's hard to watch people lose their jobs, their insurance, etc. the empathetic people I know are struggling.

I’m very sympathetic. My best advice, if you want any, is to put on really great dance music from the 80s (think Prince etc) and commit to 30-45 minutes of just purging stuff (like those old holiday card that didn’t get mailed) or putting stuff away. Upbeat music is key to success here. This also counts as exercise.
