No shame in wanting to go to an AI to reduce decision fatigue. We did Couples Negril in Jamaica. It was relaxing and just what was needed.

It means not having to make decisions around food! I’ve been managing meals for 22 years. My kids are early 20’s but one is disabled and will be with me forever. I need a break. My husband isn’t a foodie. He can’t even think of what type of food to eat. It’s all on me. And we’re not big drinkers.

What you are paying for at an all inclusive is the alcohol. Just go to a regular resort and go to their restaurants. JW Marco island has an adults only side.

Agreed. I’ve had excellent food but I also try not to pig out on vacation. They also do a good job with reasonable (and not insane) portions.

Some all-inclusives are adults only. Look into Secrets or Excellence.

If you don’t love traditional AIs what about something like Mirival in Austin (there’s also the Lake Austin spa but I’ve never been). All inclusive, lots to do but relaxation too. I went with DH a few years back and it was great. She relaxing.

I don't understand the "i don't have to think" reasoning. You have to still choose which restaurant at the AI resort to go to, just like you would at a Westin or Four Seasons. All of these resorts have their own restaurants.

Nah man. I'd rather have a nice hotel with a nice restaurant vs all inclusive crap food.

What are usher privileges?

Look into Unico 2087 in Riviera Maya. Direct flight to Cancun. Adults only, great food, not too loud. Only downside was the shore is not very swim-friendly due to rocks.

I just posted and this wasn’t case for Excellence Playa Mujeres. We’re not big drinkers and it was mostly quiet. The beach is spread out and zero music. There are several pools with zero music. Definitely get the club level to get extra beach and pool access. Our airport transfers were also included.

Same with Excellence Oyster Bay, especially if you upgrade to the Excellence Club. No kids. They have nightly activity but it ends by 11 or 12? Like a Tina Turner cover singer, a silent disco party, karaoke.

Some low-key activities at the pool during the day but not in a cruise ship sort of way. Direct flights.

Apparently try weren’t affected too badly by Hurricane Melissa unlike other resorts.
