I've read about Chalemet doing marketing stunts, but I haven't seen any of the stunts.

I agree that you should see it in a theater rather than home, not because it’s too long, but because it’s more about a catching a feeling than following a story. It’s more fun to be in a theater full of people vibing with this movie than sitting with it at home alone.

I disagree about streaming at home. It's too long. But for the theaters, it works because there aren't any distractions. It's still a bit too long.

It was ok. A little too long.

The part about the orange ping pong balls was stupid. What was the point of all that? Didn’t know Kevin O’Leary was a real actor.

Ok to stream at home. Don’t waste your money in the theater.

It felt soulless to me , like missing something to make you care about any of the characters. So you're left with entertainment and it didn't even provide much of that.

Uncut gems was better, but I liked it.

Thought Timothy was great, as was his love interest, A’zion (also loved her in I Love LA), as was the Japanese competitor. Also surprisingly, Kevin O’Leary was great.

Did not care for Gwynyth and she always plays the same waspy matriarch frozen biyatch lady. Now she plays an older one.

I did hear a review that said this movie is just “a string of vines woven together” and I agree with that assessment. But it’s still pretty entertaining, and unpredictable, as with other Safdie movies

I didn’t feel the need to root for anyone, so overall I thought it was a fun watch.

If you hated Uncut Gems than yes, best to avoid.

Liked him in Wonka and a few SNL skits.

I like Timothee Chalamet. I think he understands the movie business and what it takes to get people to come to theaters better than most studios.

Also, I expected more from the over-the-top "orange" promotion and the overall hype. Was that Ryan Reynolds' marketing company?

I guess the studios used to do heavy marketing pushes not too long ago also, but I miss the days of sleeper hits. I feel really old.

For sleeper hits to happen, you need people to actually go to the movie theater. Outside of Christmas, when does that happen?
