August in Northern Europe can be chilly.

London and Scotland is my vote. Perfect weather for Scotland, book some day trips to see sights. Maybe take train down to Dover from London, we loved the area as a tag along for London.

Amsterdam with a day trip to Burges. Then pick another country to visit other than Belgium. Could do London.

“Just another American city” sounds snobby to me. There’s so much beauty and interesting things in our own country and you should foster that.

Have done London/Scotland in August. Edinburgh was fine during Fringe. Very good food, lots of history, DD was very into Harry Potter so the inspiration for the books was fun to track down. We did a Rabbies tour to the highlands, which was fantastic, and kept us from having to go the drive. Food was awful, but the places were beautiful.

We took the train and stopped at York. Yorkminster is fantastic and far less crowded than Westminster. Overall, had a really lovely time, just walking around and exploring. London, you know how it is. Had a lot of good food there as well.

Most of the Kauai beaches have pebbles. Not the nice soft sand in Maui. But, even so, if you’re committed to Kauai, it’s still the best choice over the other options. Kayaking in Hanalei Bay is lovely. August is perfect (there is never a bad time to go)

Hawaii!! But I’d go to Maui instead - it’s the most beautiful, has the best beaches and the most to do.
