They never really pull offers. And when coaches tell you who has and hasn’t accepted make sure they do it in WRITING!
I'm, yes, they do. Especially if another more talented player comes along, but also sometimes because the parents are difficult and it's an easy way to get rid of someone. This happened to a friend of my player, who's parent delayed signing, and had the offer pulled because someone better showed up. They were offered a spot on a lower level team, but ended up leaving the club

Why does it matter if it’s in writing or not?

Anonymous wrote:This year will be tough to get a feel of a team because of the age change. Attending a practice before helps you decided if you like a coach or the way a practice is run. But the team could be very different with girls playing school year coming down and moving down.

If you need to practice with a team to really have a chance and to get to know who you think will be the coach next year, it’s very difficult to invest in more than one other option. Sure you can just show up and hope it works but we all know that’s very unlikely. With the age change, it’s that much harder. My advice is if you have a coach you like and they will be the coach next year, then stick with the greatest level of predictability. Everything else seems like a real crap shoot.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Parents...i'm here to pump you up. Claim what is rightfully yours and take back tryout season! Don't let these clubs have power over you...visit as many clubs as you want! You are a customer and can test drive as many clubs as there are hours in a day. Go visit some practices! Go talk to some coaches! Stop being used...you can do it.
We need to stand up to these businesses and organizations that are making money off of us and then making us feel guilty if we don't keep spending money with them. Have a backbone!
If you can go to practices before the tryouts. Will give you a way better idea of the team than the tryout. Target a few clubs, send an email and see which clubs will let you practice.

Yes. And even worse, if you make and choose another club your current club knows this (because you obviously didn’t accept their offer). So you sit the whole spring season on a team where the club knows you have no future.
Isn’t it great!!! Oh and make sure you accept in 24 hours!!!
