i didnt talk about my own infertility with my sister who also when through infertility 10 years ago. It is such a private and painful thing, with ups and downs and heartache. You can say - I am just not feeling like talking about it at all - Id rather us talk about other things. and then stop talking.

I agree with this. 6 kids, 3 of them your own is a lot of kids. Not at all the same as someone trying for their first.

Just tell her your New Year’s resolution is to stop talking about it with anyone but your DH since it’s too painful.

In answer to your question - - no you are definitely not a jerk OP.

And you really shouldn’t feel that you must “re-frame” your thinking so that you will feel more comfortable discussing your infertility issues w/your coworker’s wife.

If you do not feel comfortable discussing such a personal issue w/her then that is a-okay……you really do not have to.

Infertility issues are so personal that there are A LOT of people who would not want to openly discuss this topic > even w/their own families.
